My View On The Academy Awards 2012 (Best Lead Actress)

Best Lead Actress

Frontrunners

1. Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn)

2. Viola Davis (The Help)

3. Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady)

If you look at the Precursor Awards, among these three, Michelle Williams won the most while Meryl Streep the least. No matter what, Streep is definitely someone that Academy never cease to recognise. She was the frontrunner from the start but got a bit shaken up by other three actresses still she is going to be nominated and has a fair chance of winning too. Michelle Williams who looks stunning and is one of my favourite actress have won many awards in past week for this movie and she has a big chance at winning too. As much as i think The Help is overrated and should not be nominated at all, i can't help but praise every actress in it. Viola Davis gave a superb performance and is without a doubt a frontrunner in the Oscar race.

Academy may think of giving an Oscar to Streep as she have been getting many of them but will they also want to give to the other so many deserving actresses. i must say Williams and Davis has the best shot at winning.

Unsure About

4. Tilda Swinton (We Need To Talk About Kevin)
5. Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs)
6. Charlize Theron (Young Adult)
7. Kristen Dust (Melancholia)

Now this is where it gets so annoying, this year isn't strong for Movies and Actors, for any actor whether lead or supporting. Tilda Swinton's performance is remarkable and my favourite of the year and she have won some awards too. Her movie is very small and indie but truly hard hitting and quite impactful with a performance which reminds you in certain way of both Black Swan and Melancholia so whatever the reasons are, Academy needs to fill their five slots and she has the best chance of being the fourth one.

Glenn Close looks like the fifth one to be nominated but i honestly doesn't want her to, it lacked all the passion everyone was talking about i mean it was her dream project, been working on it for years and what i saw was a big letdown. She out of respect from the Academy will get a nomination but honestly won't be a deserving one, this damn year is already a weak one and on top of that Academy doesn't go with the actual few good ones is nothing but shame.

You know my choice instead of Glenn Close would be Kristen Dust, i don't care what the director of her movie said or is but this is an acting category not directing. A brilliant movie that was made to be rejected ofcourse but i don't want any actors to be effected by it. She should be nominated or else there is Charlize Theron for a movie i can't wait to watch. Her performance seems quite layered and in that one trailer i saw so many Charlize Theron (s) than the 2 hour same ol' bland Close.

Sorry for being so rude, i never am so intense in my posts but this thing is bothering me a lot. If Academy gets my point, there is a fair chance of maybe Theron or most likely Dunst getting nominated.

For Your Consideration

From The Above List:

1. Kristen Dust (Melancholia)
2. Charlize Theron (Young Adult)

Others:

1. Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene)
2. Rooney Mara (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo)
3. Olivia Colman (Tyrannosaur)

There is a chance, a slightest one that maybe Academy picks one of the two newcomers Mara or Olsen for the fifth spot instead of Close. (That is what i think)

A Big No

1. Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs)
