My View On The Academy Awards 2012 (Best Lead Actor)

Best Lead Actor

Frontrunners

1. George Clooney (The Descendants)
2. Jean Dujardin (The Artist)
3. Brad Pitt (Moneyball)

So these 3 actors are a perfect locks for the Oscars, this is exactly what i have had in mind from the very start of the whole awards race. George Clooney is the most favorite one from a movie everyone loved including critics who thought it is one of his best or very best performance. Dujardin won Cannes too and is not a surprise he is in the race thanks to the movie itself which is a frontrunner. Brad Pitt's name was on everyone's mouth at the very start but things got a bit cold for Moneyball slowly but that doesn't mean he is lost. Academy is for sure going to recognize all these three actors for their outstanding work.

Unsure About

4. Michael Fassbender (Shame)
5. Michael Shannon (Take Shelter)
6. Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy)

Okay yes as much as i like DiCaprio, i wouldn't simply stand it if he gets a nomination for a bad movie with bad make up (as far as i heard) and i think the above three actors deserve two of the five spots far more than he does. Better luck next time.

Now Gary Oldman might have a chance if they out of the respect awards him with a nomination for a movie not many people think is a perfect one but it definitely is far superior than J. Edgar for God sake. Michael Fassbender and Michael Shannon both are from movies that are too indie and small but they have been awarded by critics so much for their work. They do deserve nominations and i simply don't see anyother actors that might put their chance of that in danger.

For Your Consideration

From the above list:

1. Michael Fassbender (Shame)
2. Michael Shannon (Take Shelter)

Others:

1. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (50/50)
2. Ryan Gosling (Drive/The Ides Of March)
3. Woody Harrelson (Rampart)

A Big No

1. Leonardo DiCaprio (J. Edgar)
