The nominations for American Cinema Editors award were announced today. Films like Boyhood, Birdman, Whiplash, The Imitation Game, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Into the Woods etc were nominated for best editing in their respective dramatic/comedy categories. As far as my predictions goes, I got all five in the comedy/musical category. In the drama section, they had an extra nod. American Sniper or Nightcrawler weren't included in mine so that is a surprise. I am specially happy for the latter film since it deserves the honor and hoping that it wont be overlooked in the upcoming guild awards. It is a welcome surprise to see these interesting nominations, lets hope that other awards bodies follow that as well. Below is the full list of nominees:
