Mad Max : Fury Road |
The BOFCA awarded MAD MAX: FURY ROAD with their best picture award. This of course following the recent NBR win shows a great support for the film among the critics already proven by the rave reviews it received earlier this year. The film swept here, also winning best director, editing, cinematography and score. So pretty great and so pretty unusual. Another film to show strong support among them would be CREED which won lead actor and supporting actor awards for its stars Michael B. Jordan (his first award this season) and Sylvester Stallone (his second). Also following recent wins at NYFCC, Kristen Stewart and Saoirse Ronan won supporting and lead actress awards for their respective films. The Boston centred film which you may have thought would be a shoe-in here, SPOTLIGHT, managed to win the screenplay and ensemble prizes.
