The Indie Spirits were just handed out and as expected, "12 Years a Slave" came out at the top. The Steve McQueen feature won best film, director, supporting actress, screenplay and cinematography. First feature and screenplay went to "Fruitvale Station" and "Nebraska" respectively. All 4 acting winners here I am predicting to repeat at the Oscars as well so fingers crossed for that. Good batch of winners overall. Though movies like "This Is Martin Bonner" should be awarded and nominated more here.
