Well the Screen Actors Guild Awards in a very shocking way, awarded best ensemble prize to Argo. Now as much as it got the recent boost with the big awards, no one expected that Argo would win the ensemble prize since there were much more brilliantly acted movies than Argo like Silver Linings Playbook, Lincoln and even Les Miserables. Argo's win tells us one thing only, everyone loves it no matter what. To me, this is an idiotic win that is solely based on the film's popularity only. Now all eyes on DGA and WGA, if they go with Argo too than the Oscar is pretty much locked but as of now, Argo and Lincoln are frontrunners and Silver Linings Playbook's major loss here in the main category is very unfortunate for it.
The other winners, specially Daniel-Day Lewis and Anne Hathaway were predicted since they won everything on their way here. Tommy Lee Jones too was the safest choice and i am sure he is up for the Oscar as well though he faces a bit of a competition with Philip Seymour Hoffman but hey, who cares about quality these days? I am also happy for Jennifer Lawrence's win even though i would have appreciated Jessica Chastain winning since she is my favorite of the year.
