Producers Guild of America Awards 2013.

I don't know if its a surprise or not but Argo apparently won the 2013 PGA award for best picture. Now many people were still in denial over its potential even after the Critics Choice and Golden Globes, i know you aren't suppose to take them very seriously but we aren't talking about the Oscars yet, this is the Producers Guild where a well produced movie wins and it isn't effected much by the usual Academy politics because here, thousands of producers decides. Lincoln is suppose to win the Oscar because its an "Oscar movie" not because its great. Argo is a movie that has everything in it, its based on a true story and its a thriller, entertaining crowd pleasing movie with Hollywood featured in it. Its a very well made movie without any flaws, the only thing that bothers the most is that its entertaining movie and you don't really get to see any critical thing about it. Its a thriller, you are suppose to enjoy it in the moment and then forget about it. Lincoln for me is a much forced historical lesson that is respected not loved.

Now i don't know where do we go from here? If Argo wins the DGA prize too than it will either go the "Apollo 13" territory and lose best picture to Lincoln or maybe something else or it may go down in history like "Driving Miss Daisy" and win Oscar for best picture without a director win/nomination. I don't see how it can win the SAG ensemble but it has the support of the filmmakers and people around it. I personally like Argo, more so over Lincoln but neither of them are among my favorites of the year. I can only root for Zero Dark Thirty, Amour, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Silver Linings Playbook.

Below is the list of winners:

Best Picture: Argo
Animated Film: Wreck-it Ralph
Documentary Feature: Searching for Sugarman
