Cannes Film Festival 2012 Winners.

Well just an hour or so ago the winner of Cannes Film Festival were announced. Not a surprise but a relieve that Michael Haneke's Masterful movie AMOUR won the prestigious Palme d'Or prize. HANEKE previously won this prize in 2009 for The White Ribbon while his movies Cache and The Piano Teacher along with others have been a regular winner here. People thought that the Head of Jury Nanni Moretti's person conflicts will play a big part here and also that HOLY MOTORS might be a daring choice that they pick but yes it all ended very well.

Mads Mikkelsen won Best Actor for THE HUNT which i predicted and was a great choice and BEYOND THE HILLS surprisingly got Screenplay and Best Actress for the both lead ladies, the film got a good response but wasn't that excellent enough to let me or critics think it will win big. POST TENEBRAS LUX even though received poor reviews got itself a Direction award. American Indie movie, the Sundance favorite and one of my anticipated movie BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD was a big winner too winning FIPRESCI prize for Un Certain Regard and Camera d'Or.
