Oscars 2012 Nominations Special (Supporting Role - Female)

Ok the Academy Awards are just around the corner and i have 3 more categories to cover so yes here i am with the Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role Female:

Well let me just say, this is one of the most strongest categories this year or perhaps the strongest. The race is very tough and tight though we already know who the big winner would be but still i am very happy with all the nominees.

1. Janet McTeer - Albert Nobbs
Yes a good performance from a bad movie i agree, McTeer had the best chance of getting nomination but Glenn Close got one too so certainly performance is the only best part of the movie. Both of them got the nomination not only over their performance in this movie but also out of respect for them because they have been around for quite a long time. McTeer was nominated for Tumbleweed before, so it wasn't a surprise for me that she got nominated. The movie is very weak and flawed in every aspect which also brings down the performances and they just doesn't feel very convincing. She did a good job but i don't see her winning at all and has the least chance.

2. Berenice Bejo - The Artist
Berenice Bejo benefits mostly from the great buzz the movie had all this time and the fact that this movie is getting the Oscar too so normally Academy loves to just consider that particular movie in category nowadays. That said, i don't think she doesn't deserves the nomination. Bejo acted very good in the movie and she had the right kind of looks for an actress of that era and was just so adorable in places where she had to like the struggling phase and then you see her get mature slowly and that transformation is just brilliant. I think she has the second most chance of getting the award.

3. Melissa McCarthy - Bridesmaids
I know right? What is she doing here? Well i am not shocked at all, in fact i was in favor of her getting the nomination. I remember being one of those people on Twitter who posted tweets with the tag Mellisa McCarthy for Oscars so yeah i am very very happy to see her here. McCarthy suddenly started getting the Critics awards attention and her presence was seen among the supporting actress category among all these critics circle which came as a shock but slowly that i thought of, she really was good and bring such honesty to her performance. I like this positive attitude towards these well made comedy movies.

4. Octavia Spencer - The Help
"And the Oscar goes to .... Octavia Spencer" is something you are going to hear at the big Oscar night, she is the frontrunner and have been winning everything. The Help is a movie i love for the performances and she was a true standout i mean the best performer from the movie. I was very impressed by her acting ability, her character is a very lovable one and she does the justice. Her character doesn't always cry but she is very witty, bold and straight forward woman who makes so many problems for her but has the courage to deal with it, for a woman like her to be in the age of racism and sexism is brilliant.

5. Jessica Chastain - The Help
Jessica Chastain or the girl that was in every movie last year definitely had the best year any actor, male or female had. She was a standout in The Tree of Life and delivered a brilliant performance in Take Shelter as well as others. But in The Help, she had the most sympathetic character i have seen last year. I mean i did got emotional and heart broken throughout the movie but she was someone that made my heart melt. Her scene when she goes to that house gathering and they try to avoid her or the one at a party is just outstanding. She is truly impressive in every second of her movies and an actress i am truly looking forward to for a mindblowing career.

My Choices:
                        Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain.

Early Prediction:

1st. Octavia Spencer - The Help
2nd. Berenice Bejo - The Artist
3rd. Melissa McCarthy - Bridesmaids
4th. Jessica Chastain - The Help
5th. Janet McTeer - Albert Nobbs
