BOFCA just announced their winners for 2014. In a shocking move, "Snowpiercer" was awarded best picture with Tilda Swinton winning supporting actress. The South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho's English language sci-fi feature is one of the better action films of the year which didn't get much wider appreciation or popularity (thank you Weinstein, again!). Another gleeful surprise is Brendan Gleeson winning best actor for "Calvary", a film and a performance that was forgotten by critics until now. The film also won best screenplay. "Birdman" was the winner of the night with three awards. "Edge of Tomorrow" was given best editing while "Under the Skin" was given best score which is my personal favorite of the year so far. "Two Days, One Night" also won two awards in the obvious categories.
