Moonrise Kingdom won Best Feature Film at the Gotham Independent Film Awards. This is basically the first awards ceremony of the season, i don't want to go on about how much influence it has on the Oscars race because this award is basically targeted towards smaller independent movies and it appreciates new talent. Though i am happy that Moonrise Kingdom won, it deserved it. Beasts of the Southern Wild is a gem no doubt, it won its most deserved awards. Surprise of the day is definitely the Ensemble Prize while i would have loved to see Wallis winning the Breakthrough Actress Prize.
