National Society of Film Critics announced their award winners for the year in a live-tweet, a first for them. The frontrunner SPOTLIGHT was awarded best picture which is kind of surprising for a group like this. It also won best screenplay. Todd Haynes won best director for CAROL, which also won best cinematography. The great Charlotte Rampling won best actress for her incredibly great performance in 45 YEARS while Michael B.
