North Carolina Film Critics Association awarded "The Grand Budapest Hotel" with best picture prize while Richard Linklater won best director for "Boyhood". The former also won award for original screenplay and the latter for its supporting performer, Patricia Arquette. "Birdman" won the most prizes in categories lead actor for Michael Keaton, supporting actor for Edward Norton and a special award for Zach Galifanikas. Star of the acclaimed psychological horror film "The Babadook", Essie Davis won best actress award, a first for her this season. Also "Guardians of the Galaxy" won adapted screenplay, another surprise. Below is the list of winners:
