Gotham Independent Film Awards announced their winners for this year today. Surprisingly... or not, Inside Llewyn Davis won best picture beating the frontrunner film, 12 Years a Slave. Brie Larson won in the actress category beating another frontrunner, Cate Blanchett. Other winners included Fruitvale Station, Dallas Buyers Club and The Act of Killing.

Best Actor: Matthew McConaughey, Dallas Buyers Club
Best Actress: Brie Larson, Short Term 12
Best Documentary: The Act of Killing
Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award: Ryan Coogler, Fruitvale Station
Breakthrough Actor: Michael B. Jordan, Fruitvale Station
Film Audience Award: Jake Shimabukuro: Life on Four Strings
Spotlight on Women Filmmakers 'Live the Dream' Grant: Gita Pullapilly, Beneath the Harvest Sky
