The "Spotlight" ensemble |
The SAG Awards gave the best ensemble prize to Spotlight after all. Oscar race conformation, reaffirmation or whatever, very content with this. The Big Short went home empty handed, it's recent surge was considered by many to carry on but that didn't happen. Leonardo DiCaprio won his first, so did Brie Larson. So did Alicia Vikander. And Idris Elba in a surprising move won two (his TV role in Luther being the other). He isn't nominated for an Oscar but that wasn't going to stop the SAG. This makes it the first ever supporting win for an actor not nominated at the Oscars. Congratulations to the actors.
