In a surprise, THE BIG SHORT won the top prize at the PGA. Because of the similar voting system, membership and matching many of the recent and past winners, this film is now your Oscar frontrunner. It is quite baffling to see guilds all over the place with their picks, strong support is present for different films within different membership. PGA going with this 2008 financial crisis comedy drama, SAG likely with Spotlight (which was your initial film to beat) and DGA probably going with George Miller, you have 3 films and then The Revenant so... we will see. But in itself, The Big Short's win here is quite something irrespective of your own opinion about the film or the motion pictures it was nominated with.
