Chicago Film Critics Association announced their award winners for the year. "Boyhood" as usual picked up the main prize as well as best director, supporting actress and editing. "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Birdman" tied for best cinematography. The former also won awards for art direction and original screenplay. The great "Life Itself" won best documentary while "The LEGO Movie" continues to sweep animated film prizes. Damien Chazelle was awarded most promising filmmaker.
