The OFCS announced their nominees for this year in what I feel like the most interesting and vibrant picks we will come across all this season. You guys can take a look at all of them below but let me just talk about their lovely picks. They have some foreign/animated films appearing in the main best picture category. The Wind Rises for example and Miyazaki got nominated for director. Their actress category has 2 indie favorites, 1 foreign actress and 2 others from mainstream critical hits. Tom Hanks gets his first nomination for Captain Phillips from a critics group and I am more than happy to see my favorite, Mads Mikkelsen making the list as well. Matthew McConaughey's overlooked performance in Mud gets the first time inclusion as well as Sam Rockwell for The Way, Way Back. Their screenplay nominations have some interesting picks. Same goes for documentary, animation and foreign films. To top all of that, they also nominated The Grandmaster and The Great Beauty in cinematography... I mean could things get any better than that?
