Kansas City critics announced their winners for this year. "12 Years a Slave" was the big winner with six awards including best picture. There was a tie in the director category with the winners being both Alfonso Cuaron and Steve McQueen. Sandra Bullock yet again won another award from critics, alarming! (I mean for Blanchett). But the highlight here has to be the fact that Michael Fassbender won his first award in supporting category for "12 Years a Slave" this year. There was another tie as well between "Frozen" and "Despicable Me 2" in the animation category.
